East Lothian Carers’ Adventure Wellbeing Group

Do you look after someone, age 18+ and live in East Lothian? Do you like spending time being active and outdoors? Would you like to meet other, like minded, Carers? If so, you have come to the right place!

Venturing Out CIC has been generously funded by the East Lothian Health & Social Care Partnership to run a year long programme of adventurous outdoor activities for unpaid Adult Carers who look after someone aged 18+. 

This programme offers free access to group based outdoor activities with an aim to provide a break from caring and a focus on wellbeing. All the activities are delivered in East Lothian by highly experienced and qualified instructors.

The activities on offer include:

Water Activities (Paddleboarding, Kayaking and Canoeing)

Trail Cycling

Hill Walking

Coastal Walking

Bushcraft

Rock Climbing & Abseiling

Coasteering

 Each activity will be graded by physicality and fitness level required:

Level 1: Fully accessible

Level 2: Will require some level of physical fitness.

Level 3: Reasonable level of physical fitness required and have confidence when walking on uneven ground.

Venturing Out CIC is a long standing Outdoor Activity Provider, based in East Lothian. We are a not for profit organisation and have a track record of delivering a wide range of outdoor activities for many different groups throughout East Lothian. We have been delivering an outdoor activities programme for Parent Carers for that last 3 years and, through this programme, we are excited about offering these activities to a wider network of unpaid Adult Carers in East Lothian.
